This is how to attach an image as part of your NARGS Forum post reply (not to be confused with linking an image).
1) While in your message editing mode, click on Additional Options found in the lower left corner of the screen.
(doing that expands the list of options).
2) Click the checkbox that says "Return to this topic". At the end, after posting your message and any photos,
this option brings you right back to the Topic to see your posting. If things don't look right, such as a
misspelling, you can Modify your message to make edits. (this step is optional).
3) To the right of the "Attach" field, click the "Browse" button... this will bring up a navigation pop-up window, use it
to find and select your image file. Highlight the image file wanted, then click on "Open".
(the path and name of the image file should show up in the "Attach" field)
4) Assuming step 3 works, and only one image is desired, click the "Post" button at the bottom to complete your posting.
(your message and image should display together)
Below is an example image uploaded from a forumist's computer. The image is a "thumbnail" (smaller version of the image), click on the image to reveal the larger full-size version.
hints - hints - hints:
a) Use your photo editing software to make sure each image is no larger than 500 KB (Kilobytes). Ask a NARGS Forum
moderator if you're not sure how to do this.
b) Acceptable image file formats are .JPG, .PNG, and .GIF. Most often, image files are saved in JPG file format.
c) Other "document" file types can also be attached, such as Microsoft Word DOC files, and Adobe PDF files.
d) To attach more than one image, on the far right of the "Attach" field click on the words "more attachments", which adds
additional "Attach" fields, each with its own Browse button. There is a maximum of 10 attachments allowed per message.
e) While in message "edit" mode, there is a Preview button. The Preview button does not display any attached images, it only previews the text portion showing any formatting and colors used. For this reason, the preview option is not very useful; it is better to post your message then use the MODIFY option if you're not satisfied with your message.
