These Crossyne flava took ten years from seed to start flowering (probably because they were kept in a pot for half that time) but since then they flower regularly,

O-T Lilium 'Silk Road' has been a lot better in previous years but any flowers at all are bonus this year

Sternbergia sicula is the first one to bloom in our garden even before the autumn is fully here,

Almost stepped on this. There are others about to open but I never know what's going to happen tomorrow.

The clump of cerise Amaryllis belladonna has come into flower a bit earlier than last year but only one of the others is also in bloom,

A new year and more flowers on a surprise bulb!  Narcissus romieuxii (or a hybrid of it) came as seeds in a trough from the 2010 NARGS winter study weekend in Portland.  The soil was used planting mix from Jane McGary.  Last year there was one flower; this year there are four with one more to open.  This is a good doer.

We are a month into what could be an extreme summer and though many of the Liliums have done reasonably well, signs of heat stress are evident on these two Orientpets, Ovation and (presumeably) Belladonna:
