What do you see on your garden walk, 2016?

The dactylorhizas are beginning to bloom.  It's fascinating to see the variations.  All are hybrids that started from D. fuchsii, maculata, and majalis.

Cypripedium parviflorum flowered for the first time.  It is "caged" to keep it away from rabbits and squirrels -- too precious!

Wonderful stuff, Claire.  I didn't realize there were any Cypripediums with such a large leaf subtending the flower!  Interesting, but quite a distraction for the flower itself.  I just love all the twists in the sepals!

Yucca nana. The odd curls are the fibers that peel off the edges of yucca leaves, now coated with ice.
