To answer the title of this post, the reason to walk in the mountains, is not to flaunt a death-wish flying down a mountain like Rocky the squirrel. (google "Rocky and Bullwinkle" if you don't know the reference)

When I was a kid, I had a nickname: Rock.  It was short for Rocky the Flying Squirrel because I was up in the trees all the time. ;D

No attempts at acrobatics, though, except when jumping to the ground!

Crazy ! I only just recovered from the last film....... :rolleyes:

I suppose the reason the human flying squirrels have those smoke cans attached to their legs is so they can be found (and the bodies retrieved )  more easily when they smash into a tree or a cliff?  :o :-\

Not much to find if they hit anything. But their friends will know where to build a cairn in memory :-\
