A travel image in every sense!

I didn't know where to post this image until I saw this particular topic!

A travel image in every sense of the word, it was taken of a hot air balloon in flight from the rear window of a speeding car that was hurtling back down the motorway from a Scottish Rock Garden Club Discussion Weekend - and the image has now crossed the pond to be transmitted around the globe! Phew!

As an aside - John Dower, the miniature garden specialist, was driving the car ... possibly within the motorway speed limit ... just! :D

Landscapes can be so captivating, beyond the drama...
Unlike my truck, it was nice that John had a clean rear window!

I've experienced such speedy driving in many parts of Europe.  I have to say, however, that even though Americans drive slower in comparable situations (in general), we in the USA are far worse drivers as a whole.

I don't agree with you, Rick! I have driven in Europe, USA (Florida) and Africa but the worst drivers I find  at home (in Norway)! I found it easier to drive even in Miami than  many places in Norway.
