I visited my sister near San Diego last week and enjoyed seeing some wildflowers in bloom. A rain two weeks earlier got things going.
Phacelia parryi is strikingly dark purple. I don't try to name the other phacelias.
Lupinus hirsutissimus lives up to its name. The hairs are very irritating and make harvesting dried seed capsules challenging.

Mirabilis californica is found in both dark and light pinks. The stems and leaves are very sticky.
I think this mirabilis is M. bigelovii.
Final picture: a view of an outcrop with wildflowers.
Very nice photos Claire-Thanks
