Eriogonum?

I found these eriogonum in Nevada, near Austin, just south of Highway 50. June 20. They ranged in size from 6 to 12 inches in diameter.

Does anyone know what kind of eriogonum they are?

Just because it is one I have grown (and lost) it looks very like E. shockleyi. But I have never seen them in the wild so am no expert. It is a wonderful genus!

Thanks Tim.  Yes, you could be right.

These are very nice plants.  They would need very dry conditions to do well as the desert in which they grow receives about 7 inches of rain a year.
