The Genus Castilleja in Utah

Mr Joyner gardens in Salt Lake City where he tinkers with growing Utah wildflowers.
This article tells of the legend of the Indian paintbrush and describes the species found in Utah, their parasitic nature, their distribution and their cultivation.

Red Canyon, Utah: Geology and Plants

Alyce Hreha studied Red Canyon endemics while working on her doctorate in biogeography at the University of Utah and as a botanical consultant on several rare plant inventories and monitoring projects.
Of the Red Canyon, the article discusses the geology, soil, climate, history, some of the choicest plants and where to find them.

Limber Pine Odyssey
by Richard Hildreth

Mr Hildreth studied botany and horticulture at Wyoming, Ohio Sate University, and University of California-Davis. He is former Director of the Saratoga Horticultural Foundation in California and past president of the Pacific Horticultural Foundation, co-founder of the Utah Native Plant Society and past president of the Utah Association of Nurserymen and Landscape Contractors.
In addition to describing the forests of Utah, the author discusses the limber pine, Pinus flexilis and some of it's cultivars.

A Garden in Park City

Mr Van Reyper is a semi-retired, free lance artist living in Park City, Utah. He talks about the environment of his home at 7,400ft, what he has done to build a garden there and lists some of the plants he has grown.
