Sedum cauticola

by Iza Goroff

Sedum cauticola is a choice and easy plant for the rock garden. The genus sedum contains many species, some of which are invasive and dangerous to introduce to the rock garden (e.g. S. acre and S. album) and others which are valuable. Sedum cauticola is well behaved. It has excellent gray foliage and attractive purple-pink flowers. Its height is usually around 4" (10 cm.). It is best grown with some sun and is tolerant of a wide range of (well drained) rock garden soils. Best of all, it blooms in September when few other alpine plants are in bloom.
