Iris reticulata

by Iza Goroff

Iris reticulata, a native of the Caucuses Mountains, Turkey, Iraq, and Iran, is one of the bulbous irises commonly available which are suitable for the rock garden. I. reticulata comes in a variety of color selections. The long, four sided, leaves die several weeks after flowering. The plant requires good drainage and a sunny location.

Other related bulbous Iris species, requiring similar culture, are I. histrioides (light blue), I. danfordiae (yellow), and I. winowgradowii (yellow).
