Think you know everything there is to know about Rock Gardening? Think again…and make plans to join us for what promises to be an unforgettable gardening experience on the ultimate rock - the island of Manhattan.

You'll be amazed at how much this refresher course - taught by our All-Stars - will teach you about getting plants, growing them, keeping them, increasing them, and showing them.


Our Distinguished Faculty:


Robert Rolfe, Alpine Garden Society Show Specialist, author of The Alpine House, will speak on Growing for Gold - the Hows and Whys of Competitive Showing and The Best of the New Alpines.

Rick Lupp, Mount Tahoma Nursery's Master Propagator-Owner, will teach us his secrets of alpine propagation and introduce us to the hot new Campanulas from the Caucasus and Near East.

Beryl Bland, England's Saxifrage Specialist, will examine the Genus Saxifraga around the world.

Peter Bland, Plant Explorer and Small Shrubs Specialist, will detail their use in the rock garden, and will discuss new alpine gardening techniques.

John Lonsdale, Expert Grower of Fritillarias, Juno Irises, Cyclamen, Daphnes, will show us how he does it.

Abbie Zabar, Noted Gardening Artist-Writer, will discuss Beyond Buns - the Shape of Things.

Indulge yourself in walking and shopping tours of glamorous Fifth, Madison, and Park Avenues…and, if you desire, make pre-meeting side trips to such marvelous gardens as Wave Hill, New York Botanical Garden, Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

Slide Sharing

Friday night there will be slide projectors available for sharing YOUR slides. Please limit your slides to 10-minute presentations.
